Job summary

Dash Group is seeking an experienced Leading Hand Civil Pipe Layer in Geelong, Victoria, to supervise and work alongside a crew on civil pipe laying projects. You will lead activities, ensure drainage and underground services are installed to spec, and maintain safety and productivity on site.

The role requires proven leadership of small crews, strong stake in quality, and the ability to read plans and levels.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Leading Hand Civil Pipe Layer to join our a client Immediately
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who has strong experience in civil pipe laying, drainage and underground services and is confident leading a crew while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and productivity.
About the Role As a Leading Hand, you will be responsible for supervising and working alongside your crew to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to specification.
Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and supervise civil pipe laying crews on site
• Set out and install stormwater, sewer and drainage systems
• Read and interpret plans, drawings and levels
• Ensure works are completed to project specifications and quality standards
• Coordinate daily tasks and communicate with Site Supervisors and Project Managers
• Operate and work around excavators, trenching equipment and other civil machinery
• Carry out trenching, bedding, pipe installation, backfilling and associated civil works
• Maintain a strong focus on site safety and environmental requirements
• Complete daily paperwork and site documentation where required

The successful candidate will have:

• Proven experience as a Civil Pipe Layer / Leading Hand
• Strong knowledge of civil drainage and underground services
• Ability to read plans, drawings and levels
• Experience leading a small crew
• Strong understanding of civil construction practices
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Reliable transport and a strong work ethic
• Relevant tickets and qualifications are highly regarded
• White Card required
• Excavator, skid steer, confined space, or other relevant tickets highly regarded
