Job summary

BMD is seeking a Pipework's Leading Hand to join our team on civil infrastructure and urban development projects. You will ensure on-time completion, maintain safety, and deliver quality workmanship for client handover.

Key duties include coordinating plant, labour, and materials, directing subs and suppliers, monitoring costs, and ensuring adherence to drawings, specs and schedules. Experience in shoring and pipelaying is valued.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Civil Construction is required
• Current driver’s licence is essential
• Good communication skills and attention to detail are required
• Proven leadership and teamwork needed, with ability to manage site activities and safety

Responsibilities

• Thorough understanding of OHS and environmental requirements
• Arrange plant, labour and materials for the project
• Direct and monitor Sub-Contractors, Suppliers and plant hirers
• Control survey requirements
• Daily monitoring of activity costs
• Monitor safety and environmental compliance
• Maintain construction program adherence
• Report non-conformances and recommend remedial actions
• Maintain daily site activity records
• Ensure client quality expectations are met or exceeded per specs

Education

Certificate III in Civil Construction

Current driver’s licence
