Job summary

Marble Group is seeking experienced drainage construction workers for immediate start on civil subdivision projects in Queensland. You will join a team performing pipe laying, drainage installation, trench preparation and pit-and-structure work across multiple sites.

The roles offer weekly pay, full-time and casual positions, with Ute provided for leading positions and generous penalties and allowances.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installation of underground drainage systems across subdivision and civil projects.
• Install stormwater, sewer and watermain to required specifications.
• Assist pipelayers and operators with trenching, bedding, backfilling and drainage installation.
• Operate excavators and other civil plant as experience allows.
• Assist with pit and structure installations (pits, manholes, culverts).
• Prepare work areas and maintain organized drainage zones.
• Work safely around existing underground services and machinery.
• Collaborate with forman, operators and trades to keep works progressing.
• Follow plans and site instructions to ensure quality drainage infrastructure.
• Maintain site safety procedures and daily pre-starts.

Job description

• Civil drainage works: Carry out installation and construction of underground drainage systems across subdivision and civil construction projects.
• Pipe laying: Install stormwater, sewer and watermain to the required line, level, grade and project specifications.
• Drainage labouring: Assist pipelayers and operators with trench preparation, pipe installation, bedding, backfilling, compaction and general drainage works.
• Plant operation: Operate excavators and other civil plant for trenching, excavation, loading, backfilling and drainage installation, depending on experience and tickets.
• Pit and structure installation: Assist with the installation of drainage pits, manholes, culverts, headwalls and other associated drainage infrastructure.
• Site preparation: Set up work areas, prepare materials and equipment, maintain access and keep drainage work zones organised throughout the day.
• Working around services: Work safely around existing underground services, excavations, trenches, machinery and other construction activities.
• Team-based work: Work closely with forman, operators, pipelayers, labourers and other trades to keep drainage works progressing efficiently.
• Quality and specifications: Follow plans, levels and site instructions to ensure drainage infrastructure is installed correctly and meets project requirements.
• Safety and housekeeping: Follow site safety procedures, complete daily pre-starts and maintain a clean and safe work area while working on active subdivision sites.
