Job summary

Smith & Co Recruitment is seeking experienced Civil Pipelayers for multiple projects across South East Queensland, including Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Ipswich. You will work on subdivisions, roadworks and major infrastructure with sewer, stormwater and water mains installations.

Roles offer long‑term opportunities with progression and consistent hours on busy sites. Candidates should be capable with pipe lasers, dumpy levels and reading civil plans, with a current driver’s license

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience working as a Civil Pipelayer.
• Experience installing sewer, stormwater or water mains is preferred.
• Comfortable reading construction plans and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Install sewer, stormwater and water main infrastructure to project specifications.
• Complete pipe laying across subdivision and major infrastructure projects.
• Set up and accurately use pipe lasers and dumpy levels.
• Read construction plans, drawings, levels and site specifications.
• Assist with the construction and installation of pits and drainage structures.
• Prepare trenches and bedding before pipe installation.
• Check grades, levels and alignment throughout installation works.
• Coordinate with Excavator Operators during trenching and pipe placement.
• Work alongside Supervisors, Leading Hands and other civil crew members.
• Complete daily works in accordance with site safety and quality requirements.

Civil Pipelayers – Multiple Projects Across South East Queensland

Smith & Co is looking for an experienced Civil Pipelayer to join established contractors across Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Ipswich. With multiple active projects and further works commencing across South East Queensland, we have a range of opportunities available for skilled Pipelayers looking for consistent, long-term employment.

The projects cover subdivisions, road construction and major civil infrastructure, with crews completing sewer, stormwater, drainage and water main installations. We're looking for candidates who understand the complete pipelaying process and can confidently work with levels, lasers, plans and civil machinery on busy construction sites.

For experienced Pipelayers looking to take the next step, selected projects also provide opportunities to develop into Leading Hand and Foreman positions.

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience working as a Civil Pipelayer
• Previous pit & pipe and underground drainage experience
• Experience installing sewer, stormwater and/or water mains
• Background working across subdivisions, roadworks or civil infrastructure
• Confident using pipe lasers, dumpy levels and other levelling equipment
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans and construction drawings
• Understanding of trench preparation, bedding, grades and pipe installation
• Leading Hand or Foreman experience will be highly regarded
• Current driver's licence with the ability to travel to project locations
• Reliable, safety-conscious and comfortable working as part of a busy civil crew
