Job summary

BlueCare, a proud part of UnitingCare Queensland, is seeking a Personal Carer to support clients in Atherton, Mareeba and surrounding areas. The role is permanent part time, involving in‑home personal care and mobility support with travel between client homes.

You will deliver daily living assistance, maintain safety and dignity, and work under care plans to enhance clients’ quality of life. A relevant qualification and a valid driver’s licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate III Aged Care or equivalent required.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence (Green Provisional minimum) required.
• Roadworthy & insured vehicle to use for work - essential.
• Comfort with smartphones, tablets and basic tech tools required.

Responsibilities

• Provide in‑home personal care and daily living assistance in clients’ homes.
• Travel between client homes for scheduled visits and appointments.
• Assist with showering, meal prep, housekeeping, laundry and other daily tasks as per care plan.
• Support clients with community activities and personal independence goals.
• Follow individualized care plans and document progress accurately.

Remuneration:$36.32p/hr + Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take home pay) + Allowances & Travel Reimbursement (KM’s) + Employee discounts

About the role:

As aPersonal Careryou’ll provide care to your clients living in the community, supporting their independence and improving their quality of life.

Spending your time on the road completing scheduled visits, interacting one-on-one with clients within their homes supporting with daily activities

In home personal care, daily living assistance including showering, personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning, laundry and ironing

Providing care in accordance with their individualised Care Plan

Supporting with community based recreational and social activities

Transportation and assistance with shopping and appointments.

Role requirements:

Certificate III Aged Care, Individual Support or an equivalent qualification - Essential

Current Australian Driver’s Licence (Green Provisional minimum) - Essential

Roadworthy & insured (Third Party Property minimum) vehicle to use for work- Essential

Experience with technology incl. smartphones, tablets, laptops etc

Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies
