Job summary

Respect seeks a compassionate Personal Care Assistant to join our residential aged care team in Tongala, Victoria. You will work alongside our senior clinical team to support residents with daily living, meals, and activities that promote dignity and independence.

In this role you will document observations, follow care plans, and assist with general ward duties as directed by the RN/EN. Aged care experience and appropriate checks are required to ensure safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in residential aged care.
• Compliance with Aged Care Worker Screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to assist residents with daily living while maintaining independence and dignity.
• Attend to meals and refreshments as required.
• Record observations and report any changes to the care plan in progress notes.
• Check residents' daily menu requirements and ensure preferred options.
• Assist with duties as allocated by the RN/EN and participate in general ward tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to assist residents to maintain independence and dignity with respect to activities of daily living and lifestyle.
• Attend to meal delivery and refreshments as required.
• Record observations on relevant assessment charts and documents any observed exceptions to the care plan in the progress notes; and reports such to the EN/RN.
• Check residents daily menu requirements.
• Attend to duties as allocated and or delegated by the RN/EN, including general ward duties.
• Any other task not defined but within the employees skills, as directed by the organisation.

Requirements

• Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).
• NDIS check (or ability to acquire).
• Relevant Certificate III Qualification.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in residential aged care.
• To be considered for employment with Respect, each candidate must satisfy the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.
