Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, mentor and develop a team of 8 Payroll Officers.
• Manage team workloads and payroll schedules to ensure timely processing.
• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for 15,000+ employees across multiple operations.
• Review and approve complex payroll transactions, including overpayments and adjustments.
• Act as escalation point for complex payroll enquiries.
• Ensure payroll records and documentation are accurate and compliant.
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance and service delivery.
• Support payroll system upgrades, testing and optimisation activities.
• Develop and maintain payroll procedures and work instructions.
• Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and customer service.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, SOX requirements and company policies.

About the Role

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will lead a team of 8 Payroll Officers and oversee the end-to-end processing of weekly and fortnightly payrolls for more than 15,000 employees and labour hire personnel.

You will be responsible for ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, service excellence, and continuous improvement while building a positive, high-performing team culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, mentor and develop a team of 8 Payroll Officers.
• Manage team workloads and payroll schedules to ensure payrolls are processed accurately and on time.
• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for 15,000+ employees across multiple business operations.
