Job summary

JBS Australia is seeking a Payroll Team Leader to head a team of 8 payroll officers and manage weekly and Fortnightly payrolls for more than 15,000 employees and labour hire personnel.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will drive accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement while mentoring staff and building a high-performing team culture.

This role offers the opportunity to influence payroll operations across a large national business and contribute to efficiency and service quality.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a payroll team.
• Extensive end-to-end payroll experience in a high-volume environment.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance, and best practices.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of payroll Officers.
• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing weekly and fortnights for 15,000+ employees.
• Review complex payroll transactions and escalations.
• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of payroll services.
• Drive process improvements and system upgrades.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management within payroll.
