Job summary

St Vincent's Hospital Sydney is seeking a Payroll Services Officer to provide accurate payroll delivery for thousands of hospital staff. You will report to the Payroll Services Team Leader and work within a team of seven, ensuring compliance with health service policies and award conditions.

The role supports flexible work arrangements with two days from home per week and includes extra accrued days off, reinforcing staff wellbeing and work-life balance while enabling professional growth within

Qualifications

  • Experience in a payroll role within a large health service.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiar with CHRIS21 or equivalent payroll systems.
  • Experience with Kronos or similar time-and-attendance systems.
  • Understanding of health sector awards and enterprise agreements.

  • Provide payroll service delivery to over 4000 employees at the hospital.
  • Report to Payroll Services Team Leader and be part of a team of 7.
  • Ensure high accuracy in accordance with health service policies and industrial frameworks.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders across the hospital.
  • Participate in process improvement projects to enhance efficiency and quality of payroll service delivery.
  • Work flexibly, with 2 days working from home each week.
  • Enjoy better work-life balance with access to an extra 12 Accrued Days Off each year.

About the role

About you
  • Experience working in an internal payroll team in a complex high-volume environment
  • A friendly attitude coupled with strong analytical skills
  • Exposure to CHRIS 21or similar payroll system
  • Exposure to an automated time and attendance system, preferably Kronos or similar
  • Experience with Health awards/agreements or worked in an area with complex award conditions across multiple agreements
