Job summary

PERSOL Australia is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a mining organisation in West Perth on a 12-month contract. You will manage fortnightly payroll using SAP Employee Central Payroll and ensure accuracy and compliance.

This role offers a high-volume environment with a focus on process improvement, ensuring timely payments and adherence to Australian payroll laws. Immediate start, Monday–Friday, 7.6-hour days, with weekly pay and superannuation.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-volume payroll processing.
• Experience using SAP ECP.
• Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation (Fair Work Act, NES, modern awards, PAYG, superannuation, STP).
• Advanced Excel skills (formulas, reconciliations, pivot tables).
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Confidentiality and professionalism with sensitive data.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end fortnightly payroll using SAP ECP.
• Process payroll adjustments, allowances, deductions, salary sacrifice and termination payments.
• Set up new employees with tax declarations and super details.
• Prepare EFT payment requisitions and obtain approvals.
• Generate payroll variance reports and compare with prior periods.
• Reconcile tax, superannuation and STP; support payroll reconciliations.
• Respond to payroll enquiries from employees and management.
• Collaborate with HR and People Support on payroll changes.
• Assist with payroll system testing and UAT; maintain records and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with Australian payroll legislation and company policies.
