Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting a Payroll Officer for a 12-month contract in Logan, Queensland. You will manage end-to-end weekly and monthly payrolls, maintain employee records and handle complex calculations with accuracy and compliance.

You will work in a hybrid setup, collaborating with HR and Finance to ensure payroll integrity while delivering exceptional service to employees and meeting statutory obligations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a high volume payroll officer position in a complex environment.
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of termination calculations, superannuation, PAYG and payroll tax.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Available for a 12 month contract.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Maintaining employee records including commencements, terminations and employment changes.
  • Processing complex payroll calculations including leave, overtime, superannuation and statutory obligations.
  • Managing PAYG, payroll tax, workers compensation and long service leave requirements.
  • Responding to payroll-related employee enquiries and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Supporting payroll system workflows and data integrity.
  • Assisting with payroll reporting, reconciliations and compliance activities.
  • Collaborating with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy and efficiency.
