Job summary

Programmed GO is seeking an experienced Payroll & HR Administration Officer to join our Melbourne-based team. This hands-on role covers end-to-end payroll, HR administration and HRIS responsibilities, supporting broader People & Culture capabilities.

You will handle end-to-end fortnightly payroll, HRIS data, and onboarding/offboarding while ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely processing in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Approx 3 years' experience in payroll, ideally Australian multi-state.
• Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, payroll tax, WorkCover and superannuation.
• Experience with salary packaging and novated leases.
• Understanding of awards and Fair Work compliance.

Responsibilities

• Processing end-to-end fortnightly Australian payroll.
• Managing timesheets, payroll adjustments, deductions, bonuses and remuneration changes.
• Payroll tax, superannuation, WorkCover and STP requirements.
• Payroll reconciliations and payroll reporting.
• Administering salary packaging and novated leases.
• Responding to employee payroll queries and resolving issues.
• Supporting annual remuneration reviews and payroll compliance.
• Interpreting awards and ensuring compliance with Fair Work requirements.
• Maintaining accurate employee records and HRIS data.
• Onboarding, offboarding, employment contracts and variations.
• HRIS administration and process improvements.
• Collaborating with People & Culture and Finance to ensure data accuracy.

About the Role

Reporting into the People & Culture function, you will be responsible for ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time, while also supporting key HR administration and employee lifecycle activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Payroll tax, superannuation, WorkCover and STP requirements
• Payroll reconciliations and payroll reporting
• Administering salary packaging and novated leases
• Responding to employee payroll queries and resolving issues
• Supporting annual remuneration reviews and payroll compliance
• Interpreting awards and ensuring compliance with Fair Work requirements
• Maintaining accurate employee records and HRIS data
• Managing onboarding, offboarding, employment contracts and variations
• Supporting HRIS administration and process improvements
• Working closely with People & Culture and Finance to ensure data accuracy and smooth payroll processes

About You

We're looking for someone with:

• Approx 3 years' experience in payroll, ideally covering Australian multi‑state payroll
• Strong experience with HRIS/payroll systems - experience with Kronos is highly regarded
• Good understanding of Australian payroll legislation, payroll tax, WorkCover and superannuation
• Experience with salary packaging and novated leases
• Understanding of awards and Fair Work compliance
• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables and formulas
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
• The ability to manage confidential information and competing priorities

Experience working within a manufacturing, operational or multi‑site environment will be highly regarded.
