Job summary

Advara HeartCare in Bundaberg is seeking a Patient Services Officer (Medical Receptionist) to provide warm, professional administrative support across our cardiology clinics. Travel between Advara HeartCare sites is essential, with potential short-term cover at other practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in administration or customer service, ideally in healthcare or aged care.
• Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to support patients sensitively.
• Confidence in billing/receipting medical accounts (Medicare and DVA experience preferred).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Managing appointment bookings, rescheduling, and patient communications.
• Liaising with hospital staff, doctors, and clinical teams.
• Checking patient GP referrals and Medicare data for accuracy.
• Answering incoming calls promptly and professionally.
• Processing billing and receipting for patient accounts, including Medicare and DVA.
• Supporting the team with efficient use of our Health Track system.

As our valued Patient Services Officer (Medical Receptionist), you’ll provide warm, professional, and efficient administrative support across our busy Bundaberg Cardiology clinics. Travel between Advara HeartCare sites is an essential part of this role, and you may also be required to provide short‑term administrative support at other practices when needed.

You’ll be the first point of contact for many of our patients, helping ensure their experience is smooth, respectful, and informed making a meaningful difference from the moment they walk through the door.
