Qualifications

• Previous experience as Medical Receptionist or healthcare receptionist, or equivalent customer service experience.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, visitors and staff.
• Proficiency with computer systems and medical practice management software.
• Understanding of privacy legislation and confidentiality requirements.
• Calm and empathetic approach to patient interactions.

Responsibilities

• Greeting patients and visitors in a warm, professional and welcoming manner.
• Managing patient check-in processes, including verifying personal details, insurance information and appointment details.
• Scheduling and confirming patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of clinician time.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in line with privacy legislation and clinic protocols.
• Processing patient payments and handling billing inquiries with accuracy.
• Answering and directing telephone calls and enquiries to the appropriate staff members.
• Coordinating with clinical staff to ensure patient flow and minimise wait times.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming reception area.
• Assisting with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry and document management.
• Providing general information about clinic services, procedures and practitioners to patients and enquirers.
