• Understanding of privacy legislation and confidentiality requirements.
• Calm and empathetic approach to patient interactions.

About you

• Previous experience working as a Medical Receptionist or in a healthcare reception environment, or equivalent customer service experience in a professional setting
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a busy environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, visitors and staff members
• Proficiency with computer systems and medical practice management software, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software applications
• Accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and record management, with understanding of confidentiality requirements
• Knowledge of privacy legislation, particularly the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and health privacy principles applicable in Australia
• A calm, empathetic approach to patient interactions, particularly when managing difficult or distressed patients
• Flexibility and willingness to support other team members as needed
• Current First Aid certification is preferred but not essential
• Medical terminology knowledge is advantageous
