Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Pathways Worker for the Central Intake Service in Alice Springs, NT. This full-time role blends phone triage with face-to-face drop-in support to help people access safe housing and services.

You will conduct intake and risk assessments, provide tailored information and referrals, collaborate with partners across the Territory, and work across multiple sites on a rostered basis. NT Working with Children Check and driver's licence required.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, Psychology or similar (highly regarded).
• Experience in intake, assessment and referral in social services.
• Knowledge of homelessness services and First Nations communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide welcoming, culturally safe first point of contact for individuals and families seeking support.
• Blend phone triage with face-to-face drop-in support.
• Conduct high‑quality intake and risk assessments.
• Offer tailored support, referrals and advocacy based on client needs.
• Work flexibly across multiple locations on a rostered basis.
