Job summary

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology (SNP) is seeking Pathology Specimen Collectors to join our Mackay/Sarina collection centres, with early starts Monday–Friday (6am–5pm) and Saturday morning shifts 6:30am–12pm.

You will collect biological specimens in a safe, professional manner, label and process samples according to strict protocols, and maintain a clean collection environment while collaborating with colleagues to ensure efficient service.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, aged care, community services or customer service.
• Certificate III in Pathology Specimen Collection is highly regarded.
• Confidence to work independently, including in solo collection centres.
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
• A willingness to learn and enjoy variety in your day.

We are looking for the right people to work as Pathology Specimen Collectors in our Collection centres within the Mackay/Sarina area, between the hours Monday-Friday varying shifts from 6am - 5pm.

Saturday morning participating in roster 6:30am - 12pm.

Key Responsibilities

Provide outstanding patient care & customer service, answering questions and easing concerns

Collect biological specimens (blood, urine, etc.) in a safe, professional manner

Label, handle, and process samples in line with strict protocols

Maintain a clean and organised collection environment

Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient service

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

Experience in healthcare, aged care, community services or customer service. A Certificate III in Pathology Specimen Collection is highly regarded.

Confidence to work independently, including in solo collection centres

Strong time management and problem-solving skills

A willingness to learn and enjoy variety in your day

A current First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain before end of Probation period)

Successful candidates will complete a comprehensive paid training program and receive an SNP training certificate on completion.
