Job summary

Dorevitch Pathology, part of Healius, is seeking experienced Pathology Collectors in Victoria on a permanent part-time basis (5.5 hours per week). You'll collect blood and other samples, greet patients and ensure accurate handling.

You'll perform venepuncture, assist with ECGs and vital checks, maintain records, and package specimens for transport. Training is provided; WWCC and immunisation are required; nursing experience is welcome.

Qualifications

• Pathology Collector experience or RN with venepuncture experience.
• Certificate III in Pathology Collection is required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with patients.
• Ability to follow procedures, manage priorities and work independently.
• Willingness to learn and contribute as part of a team.
• WWCC or willingness to obtain one prior to commencing employment.
• Immunisation evidence including Hepatitis B.
• Live within 25km of the collection centre (45km regional).

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, manage waiting area, explain collection procedures.
• Perform venepuncture and collect other pathology specimens.
• Conduct diagnostic tests such as ECGs, blood pressure and Holter monitoring as required.
• Maintain accurate patient records and registers of specimens collected.
• Prepare, pre-sort and package specimens for transport to laboratories.
• Manage patient communications and take payments where required.
• Maintain collection supplies and a safe, clean and professional environment.
