Job summary

Dorevitch Pathology, part of Healius, is seeking a Hospital Pathology Collector in Warrnambool. You will work across hospital wards collecting blood samples and other specimens, ensuring accurate handling and patient-friendly service in a busy hospital environment.

The role includes venepuncture, specimen processing, data recording, and collaboration with doctors and nurses. Training is provided: a 6-week program with full-time first two weeks then 25 hours weekly; WWCC preferred.

Qualifications

• Pathology collection experience or healthcare background is highly regarded.
• Certificate III in Pathology Collection preferred.
• Strong communication and ability to build trust with patients.
• Ability to follow procedures, manage priorities and work independently.
• Willingness to learn and contribute within a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture and collect samples across hospital wards.
• Collect other pathology specimens and conduct required tests.
• Provide patients with a caring, professional experience.
• Work with doctors, nurses and hospital staff to respond to priorities.
• Maintain accurate patient records and specimen registers.
• Prepare and package specimens for transport to laboratories.
• Maintain supplies and a safe, clean, and professional environment.
