Job summary

Dorevitch Pathology is seeking a Pathology Collector to join Healius' nationwide network. You will welcome patients, perform venepuncture and collect specimens, while ensuring accurate data and safety.

The role includes ECGs or Holter monitoring as needed, training provided, and you must have Certificate III in Pathology Collection or be a Registered Nurse with venepuncture experience. Applicants within 25 km of the collection centre will be considered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Pathology Collector or nurse with venepuncture.
• Certificate III in Pathology Collection (required).
• Strong communication and rapport with patients.
• Ability to follow procedures and work independently.
• Willingness to learn and be part of a team.
• WWCC or willingness to obtain one.
• Immunisation evidence, including Hepatitis B.
• Live within 25 km of collection centre (45 km regional).

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, manage waiting room and explain collection procedures with care.
• Perform venepuncture and collect other pathology specimens.
• Conduct ECGs and Holter monitoring as required.
• Maintain accurate patient records and specimen registers.
• Prepare, pre-sort and package specimens for transport to laboratories.
• Manage patient communications and accept payments when required.
• Maintain supplies and a clean, safe environment.
