Job summary

BYD Capalaba is establishing a new Parts Department and seeking an experienced Parts Interpreter to help build a high-performing operation from the ground up.

You will work closely with Sales, Service and Pre-Delivery to ensure the right parts are available when needed, support retail customers, and maintain orderly stock across the department.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Parts Interpreter in automotive retail.
• Strong knowledge of automotive parts and dealership operations.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Experience with EV products is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and supply parts for Service, Sales and Pre-Delivery departments.
• Assist retail customers with parts enquiries and product recommendations.
• Process customer orders, quotes, invoices and credits.
• Source parts through manufacturer and supplier networks.
• Receive, store and dispatch parts efficiently.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory control.
• Manage back orders and communicate updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Build relationships with customers, suppliers and departments.
• Maintain records and keep the parts department well-organised.
• Contribute ideas to grow the department.

As customer demand continues to grow, we're excited to be establishing a dedicated Parts Department and are seeking an experienced Parts Interpreter to help build a high-performing operation from the ground up. About the Role

As a Parts Interpreter, you'll be responsible for supporting all areas of the dealership with their parts requirements while delivering exceptional service to retail customers.

Working closely with the Sales, Service and Pre-Delivery teams, you'll ensure the right parts are available when needed, helping keep operations running smoothly and customers satisfied.

Key responsibilities include:

• Interpreting and supplying parts for Service, Sales and Pre-Delivery departments
• Assisting retail customers with parts enquiries and product recommendations
• Processing customer orders, quotes, invoices and credits
• Sourcing parts through manufacturer and supplier networks
• Receiving, storing and dispatching parts efficiently
• Monitoring stock levels and assisting with inventory control
• Managing back orders and communicating updates to customers and internal stakeholders
• Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and dealership departments
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring a well‑organised parts department
• Contributing ideas and initiatives as the department continues to grow

About You

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

• Previous experience as a Parts Interpreter within the automotive industry
• Strong knowledge of automotive parts and dealership operations
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• The ability to build strong relationships across multiple departments and with retail customers
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Experience using parts catalogues and dealership management systems
• A proactive and team-focused attitude
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• A current driver's licence
• Experience with EV products or a genuine interest in emerging vehicle technology will be highly regarded.
