Job summary

Volks Centre Cairns is seeking a Parts Interpreter and Automotive Receptionist to join our family-owned workshop in Far North Queensland. The role focuses on ordering parts, liaising with technicians, and keeping stock levels up to date while delivering excellent customer service to the public.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years as a Parts Interpreter, strong knowledge of OEM parts, and the confidence to interact professionally with diverse customers. Australia working rights are required.

Qualifications

Parts Interpreter and Automotive Receptionist

Training of the role of software, contacts of suppliers and any other information suited to this job role would be conducted in house and working alongside and mentored by the current Branch Manager and also the Director of Volks Centre.

Position Overview:Parts Interpreter / Automotive Receptionist you will be crucial part of the workforce, allocating time to carry out the ordering of parts for the booked in vehicles ahead, speaking with the technicians for any parts that they require to complete their current job, keeping the number of stocked items up to date to avoid delays in workshop turnover, making sure all received parts from suppliers are allocated to the correct job cards or if ordered for stock - allocated into a stocked location, making sure any credits or returns for faulty or incorrect parts are processed back to the supplier and logging returns until suppliers credit not has been actioned, ordering parts for other workshops or walk in customers that have a request to purchase directly from Volks Centre. Answering phone calls for bookings, returning customers email for requested bookings via our email portal.

Responsibilities:

Ordering parts promptly and effectively from suppliers with good branded quality (OEM) parts at a good price to allow business to still make a nice profit

Be able to show empathy and compassion to staff members and members of the public if required

Provide accurate estimates and freight timing for customers or other workshops who decide to purchase from Volks Centre.

Ensure any problem that is encountered or issue that is out of your ability to provide a prompt / correct result is liaised directly with the Branch Manager for advice or the Director of Volks Centre.

Handle customer inquiries promptly and courteously.

Ensure that the parts department operates smoothly and efficiently.

Collaborate with Branch Manager and Technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs.

Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Uphold our commitment to excellent customer service and satisfaction.

Book appointments for Services and Mechanical repairs via phone call or via email

Be responsible for procurement of parts and provide accurate quoting to customers

Preparing invoices for parts collections

Enter incoming stock and Retain stock levels

Processing credits and warranties.

Assist with regular cyclic and annual branch stock takes

Maintain the showroom to ensure it's clean and presentable.

Assist Customers with parts enquiries and orders

Proven experience as a Parts Interpreter in the automotive industry is an absolute must.

Must have working rights in Australia - Not requiring sponsorship to change employment.
