Job summary

Marymead CatholicCare Canberra & Goulburn is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate part-time Family Worker to join our Children’s Contact Program, providing supervised contact services that are impartial, trauma-informed and child-centred. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will play an important role in supporting children and families through safe, positive and child-focused contact arrangements.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: conducting supervised visits,

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Community Services or related qualification.
• Demonstrated commitment to person-centred, child-safe and trauma-informed practice.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with clients.
• Ability to respond calmly to critical incidents and support clients with complex needs.
• Well-developed written communication and time management.

Responsibilities

• Conducting supervised visits and changeovers between children and their families.
• Transporting children to and from visits, including occasional interstate travel.
• Preparing accurate and objective observational reports in accordance with program guidelines.
• Maintaining client confidentiality while meeting duty of care and safeguarding obligations.
• Participating in team meetings, supervision and professional development.
• Maintaining accurate records and completing administrative tasks according to program requirements.
