Job summary

University of Western Australia is seeking a part-time Student Advisor to support student success and progression within the Student Life portfolio. The role focuses on enrolment navigation, course planning, and delivering high-quality administrative services.

The position is a 0.6 FTE fixed-term appointment until 1 March 2027, with a pro-rata base salary of $86,540–$95,920 plus 17% superannuation. Flexible working options and generous leave are offered.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience in administration, student services, customer service or a comparable advisory environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to confidently manage complex enquiries and build effective stakeholder relationships.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database systems, with a strong commitment to delivering an outstanding student-centred service.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional advice, support and guidance to current and prospective students, helping them navigate enrolment, course planning, progression and university processes.
• Deliver high-quality student administration services, manage complex enquiries, maintain accurate student records, and contribute to continuous improvement of systems, policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with academic and professional staff across the University to support positive student outcomes and an exceptional student experience.
