Job summary

Mission Australia is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Housing Officer in Coffs Harbour to manage a portfolio of social and affordable tenancies and ensure high service standards. The role focuses on tenancy support, rent and compliance management, and strong stakeholder engagement.

You will work with tenants, community partners, and internal teams to promote positive outcomes, handle documentation, and contribute to reporting and continuous improvement in housing services.

Qualifications

• Experience in community housing, social housing, tenancy management, or related human services.
• Certificate IV in Social Housing is desirable but not required.
• Strong communication, empathy and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of social and affordable housing tenancies with high-quality tenancy and property management services.
• Support tenants to sustain tenancies by guiding on rights, responsibilities and access to support services.
• Monitor rent payments, arrears, tenancy breaches, and income reviews per policy and legislation.
• Conduct routine property inspections, condition reports and vacating inspections with accurate documentation.
• Maintain tenancy and property records ensuring regulatory and funding compliance.
• Prepare operational reports on tenancy performance, vacancies, arrears and KPIs.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with tenants, community partners, government agencies and internal stakeholders.
• Represent Mission Australia Housing at court, tribunal, stakeholder and interagency meetings as required.
