Job summary

MMT Care is seeking an experienced Senior Support Worker to provide person-centred support to a participant with ASD and complex behavioural support needs. The role focuses on establishing structured routines, promoting independence, and community engagement while delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

This is a part-time position (56 hours per fortnight) based on the Gold Coast region. You will lead a small team of support workers, coordinate with health professionals, and maintain

Qualifications

• Certificate III or above in Disability Services (Certificate IV desirable).
• Experience supporting participants with autism and complex behaviours.
• Mental health training and experience with complex mental health needs.
• Strong knowledge of positive behaviour support and management.
• Leadership, rostering and staff performance experience.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Current First Aid & CPR, NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children/Blue Card (or willing to obtain).
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Help establish structured daily routines and support personal goals.
• Implement positive behaviour support strategies to manage behaviours of concern.
• Coordinate GP appointments and liaise with professionals (Behaviour Support Practitioners, OT).
• Maintain progress notes, behavioural data, and incident reports.
• Provide updates to the House Coordinator on wellbeing and progress.
• Lead and guide support workers, promoting an inclusive team culture.
