Job summary

Rosebank College in Five Dock, Sydney, seeks a permanent part-time Counsellor/Psychologist to join the Pastoral Care team. The role is 0.40 FTE, term time only, commencing 20 January 2027.

Two days per week may be any two days between Monday and Wednesday, with a start date in 2027. The successful applicant will provide counselling, assessments, early intervention, referrals and expert advice on student wellbeing across Years 7–12, in a Catholic education setting.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and general registration as a psychologist with AHPRA.
• Experience supporting the psychological, social and emotional wellbeing of school-age children and adolescents.
• Knowledge of child and adolescent development, mental health assessment, evidence-based intervention and appropriate referral pathways.
• Ability to build safe, respectful and trusting relationships with students across stages 3–6.
• Commitment to professional, confidential and ethical service delivery within legal frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Provide counselling and psychological support to students.
• Conduct assessments and early interventions as needed.
• Coordinate referrals and collaborate with families, staff and external professionals.
• Support development of student wellbeing and learning support plans.
• Deliver psychoeducation and guidance to staff and families.
