Job summary

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College in South Australia is seeking a qualified School Counsellor to join our supportive community as a permanent part-time Education Support Officer, Grade 5. The role focuses on student wellbeing and confidential counselling, working with staff, families and external providers.

You will hold a Diploma of Counselling, be registered with a professional body, and bring crisis management skills, autonomous decision-making, and commitment to empowering young people.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Counselling (or equivalent) required.
• Current registration with a recognised professional body.
• Experience delivering empowering counselling to young people.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage crises.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality individual and small-group counselling to students.
• Advise leaders, teachers and parents; provide resources for student difficulties.
• Assist teaching staff with health-related curriculum topics on well-being.
• Support orientation initiatives and key transition years.
• Maintain confidential case notes and reports in line with policy and privacy.
