Job summary

Uniting Early Learning QLD in The Gap is seeking a Permanent Part-Time leader to balance hands-on room leadership with service-wide educational and operational duties. You will support the Centre Director as Second in Command (2IC), act as the Responsible Person, and step in during the Director's absence.

You will mentor educators, foster safe, inclusive learning environments, manage rostering, enrolments and family communications, and ensure NQF compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading early childhood teams
• Strong mentorship and people management skills
• Knowledge of early childhood education frameworks (NQF)
• Ability to build relationships with families and children
• Strong communication and organizational abilities

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment that supports each child’s development
• Mentor and guide educators within your room and across the service
• Build trusted relationships with children and families
• Support centre operations including rostering, enrolments, family communication and administrative tasks
• Act as the Responsible Person when required, ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework
• Model and embed the values of The Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod
• Step into the Centre Director role during periods of absence, supporting staff leadership, compliance, safety, and service performance
