Job summary

The Department of Parliamentary Services in Canberra is seeking a Broadcasting Infrastructure and Support Cabling Specialist to join the Digital Recording Services Branch. You will install and maintain ELV/SELV cabling across broadcasting facilities, troubleshoot faults on live systems, and coordinate with contractors and parliamentarians to meet evolving requirements.

Applicants should hold appropriate trade qualifications or licenses, site access credentials (White Card), and be able to obtain

Qualifications

Experience in installation and termination of ELV/SELV cabling.
Professional communications skills with executive stakeholders.
Proactive approach to completing tasks with timely timelines.

Responsibilities

Complete installation, termination and maintenance of cabling including CAT5/6, fibre, coaxial, SELV/ELV.
Fault location/remediation on live systems without disruption.
Minor building works and mounting hardware on various surfaces.
Update drawings reflecting cabling changes with drafting team.
Liaise with contractors, parliamentarians and staff to confirm requirements.
Source tools, quotes and maintain inventory.
Collaborate with team for knowledge sharing and escalation as needed.
