Job summary

Department of Parliamentary Services in Canberra is seeking a Broadcasting Infrastructure and Support Cabling Specialist to install and maintain a wide range of ELV cabling, including fibre, coaxial, CAT5/6, and related networks, and to update drawings in coordination with the drafting team.

You will liaise with contractors, parliamentarians and staff, manage tools and inventory, and work extended hours as required, while ensuring compliance with building and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience installing and terminating ELV cabling to Australian Standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete the installation, termination and maintenance of ELV cabling (coaxial, fibre, CAT5/6).
• Diagnose faults on live systems and remediate without causing disruption.
• Undertake minor building works and mount hardware per regulations.
• Update drawings with changes and coordinate with in-house drafting.
• Liaise with contractors, parliamentarians, and staff to confirm requirements.
• Identify tools, source quotes, and maintain equipment inventory.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and share knowledge.
