Job summary

Regal Innovations is seeking Parks & Gardens Apprentices to create and maintain outdoor spaces across multiple sites. Expected wage is $18.00 - $27.00 per hour plus superannuation.

The role offers a structured mentorship program and opportunities for hands-on training in site preparation, planting, turfing, irrigation setup, and equipment operation. You will learn from tradespeople and gardeners, shadow experienced landscapers, and gradually take on greater responsibilities as you gain tickets

Responsibilities

• Site preparation: clearing, leveling, measuring and marking out areas under supervision
• Assisting tradespeople and gardeners: carrying plants, soil, mulch, and equipment
• Planting and garden installation: trees, shrubs, flowers, turf and irrigation setup
• Hand tool use: learning safe handling and maintenance of garden tools
• Site cleanliness and safety: keeping the site tidy and following safety procedures
• Observing and learning: shadowing experienced landscapers and arborists
• Attending workshops: plant care, soil management, machinery safety and professional practices
• Gaining responsibilities: operating small machinery as tickets and skills increase under supervision

Regal is looking for Parks & Gardens Apprentices to create and maintain beautiful outdoor spaces across multiple sites. The expected wage for this role is $18.00 - $27.00 per hour plus superannuation.

In this role, your work will shape the spaces communities enjoy every day - parks, gardens, playgrounds, and streetscapes. You’ll see your effort come to life in spaces people relax in, play in, and admire - the kind you can proudly point to and say, "I made that happen."

Key Responsibilities

As a Parks & Gardens Apprentice, you will be responsible for:

• Site preparation: clearing, leveling, measuring, and marking out garden and park areas under supervision.
• Assisting tradespeople and gardeners: carrying plants, soil, mulch, and equipment.
• Planting and garden installation: planting trees, shrubs, and flowers, laying turf, and assisting with irrigation setup.
• Hand tool use: learning safe handling and maintenance of spades, rakes, pruners, and other garden tools.
• Site cleanliness and safety: keeping the site tidy, learning HSEQ procedures.
• Observing and learning: shadowing experienced landscapers, gardeners, and arborists, understanding processes.
• Attending workshops: learning plant care, soil management, irrigation basics, machinery safety, and professional practices.
• Gradually gaining responsibilities: as tickets and skills increase, starting to operate small machinery (ride‑on mowers, mini excavators) under supervision.

Progression Over Time

• After 6-12 months: assist with advanced planting, turfing, irrigation, and basic machinery operations once trained and certified.
• By 2-3 years: increasingly independent on site, capable of completing sections of work, maintaining parks and gardens, and operating a wider range of machinery safely
