Job summary

Wingecarribee Shire Council – Moss Vale NSW is seeking an Assets Inspector for Parks and Buildings. The role involves field inspections to ensure asset safety and compliance, data collection and asset information maintenance, and contributing to renewal scopes and cost estimates.

The position blends fieldwork with reporting and data recording, with an emphasis on asset stewardship. Applicants should have qualifications in Building/Engineering/Asset Management and experience with asset condition

Qualifications

• Qualification in Building, Construction, Asset Management, Engineering and/or substantial relevant experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in construction and/or maintenance of Buildings and/or Parks assets.
• Proven experience in; condition assessments, field inspections, managing and working with databases.
• Experience in capital project scoping, cost estimating and risk assessments relating to buildings and/or park assets.
• Demonstrated experience in the development of future works programs.
• Demonstrated experience working under safe work methods systems.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with abroad range of people, community groups, Councillors and public authorities.
• Hold current C Class driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Undertake proactive and reactive inspections to assess asset condition, identify hazards and risks.
• Verify asset information and monitor compliance across Parks and Buildings.
• Collect and maintain accurate asset data and update inspection records.
• Develop scopes and cost estimates for renewal and upgrade projects.
• Contribute to the long-term capital works program and investment decisions.
• Split between field work and reporting/recording data; may use Council vehicle or own vehicle.
