Permanent full-time position
35 hours a week + variable day off every 19-days + flexible working arrangements (WFH Opportunities)
Salary: $90,022.38 - $104,620.46 + 12% Superannuation per annum
What You'll Do
As our Assets Inspector Parks and Buildings, you’ll play a key role in ensuring Council’s parks and buildings are safe, well-maintained and fit for purpose. You’ll undertake proactive and reactive inspections to assess asset condition, identify hazards and risks, verify asset information and monitor compliance across a diverse portfolio. You’ll collect and maintain accurate asset data, update inspection and asbestos records, and provide insights into asset condition trends.
Working closely with the broader asset management team, you’ll develop scopes and cost estimates for renewal and upgrade projects and contribute to Council’s long-term capital works program, helping shape investment decisions that keep our community facilities and open spaces safe, functional and sustainable.
This role is split between field work, physically inspecting built assets, and reporting and recording the data. You’ll be outside and, on the road, more days than not. Generally, you’ll have access to the Council operational vehicle pool, but you may be required to use your own vehicle if a Council vehicle is not available for inspections on any given day.

What You'll Need (Essential Criteria)
Qualification in Building, Construction, Asset Management, Engineering and/or substantial relevant experience.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in construction and/or maintenance of Buildings and/or Parks assets.
Proven experience in; condition assessments, field inspections, managing and working with databases.
Experience in capital project scoping, cost estimating and risk assessments relating to buildings and/or park assets.
Demonstrated experience in the development of future works programs.
Demonstrated experience working under safe work methods systems.
Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with abroad range of people, community groups, Councillors and public authorities.
Hold current C Class driver's licence.
Other Essential Requirements
Maintain current drivers' licence without restriction
WHS General Construction Induction (White Card)
Complete a satisfactory pre-employment medical prior to commencement
Qualified to work at heights and in confined spaces.
