Job summary

Dungog Shire Council is seeking a technically skilled Asset Inspection Officer to perform programmed and reactive inspections of our infrastructure assets, including roads, drainage, open spaces and buildings, and to record asset data for integration into our GIS systems.

Reporting to the Coordinator Assets, you will work with internal teams and contractors to ensure inspections meet WHS standards, data accuracy, and support our capital and maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in civil construction, asset management, engineering or related field.
• Experience inspecting or maintaining civil, drainage, open spaces or building assets.
• Knowledge of assets inspection and condition assessment methodologies.
• Ability to use GPS/GIS-enabled inspection tools and integrate field data with corporate systems.
• Good organisational skills and ability to work independently across inspection schedules.
• Strong awareness and commitment to WHS standards in field environments.
• Commitment to data accuracy and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct programmed and reactive inspections of Council's infrastructure assets, including roads, transport, drainage, open space and buildings.
• Record asset information accurately and ensure integration of field data into Council's GIS systems.
• Liaise with internal departments, management and contractors to coordinate inspections.
• Support Council's capital and maintenance works programs and strategies.
