Job summary

Byron Shire Council in Mullumbimby is seeking an Asset Engineer who thrives on on-site work, data-driven insights and turning analysis into action. You will guide how the Council plans, maintains and renews infrastructure assets with a focus on long-term sustainability and community needs.

The role involves developing long-term plans, improving asset information systems, and delivering business cases to inform strategic decisions.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in Asset Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience in asset inspections, condition assessment and infrastructure asset management.
Knowledge of asset lifecycle planning, renewal strategies and asset management principles.

Responsibilities

Undertake asset inspections and collect asset condition data in the field.
Analyse asset performance and lifecycle information to support maintenance and renewal planning.
Develop and update long-term asset management plans and investment programs.
Support the management and continuous improvement of Council's asset information systems and asset data.
Prepare business cases, reports and recommendations that inform strategic asset decisions.
Assist with asset revaluations, budget planning and financial reporting.
Support the use of GIS, modelling and asset management software to improve asset performance.
Work collaboratively with operational teams, consultants and stakeholders to deliver asset management initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
