Job summary

Kempsey Shire Council is seeking a motivated Parking Warden to patrol public roads and car parks, promoting lawful and courteous parking practices. You will balance enforcement with education and customer engagement, while assisting residents and visitors with parking queries.

Role involves working with Rangers and Compliance Officers, with a rotating roster that includes weekends, after‑hours shifts and public holidays. A Class C licence and knowledge of Australian Road Rules are essential.

Qualifications

• Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
• Experience and sound knowledge of the Australian Road Rules.
• SEINS training completed, or ability to acquire quickly.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, especially in challenging situations.
• Strong customer service focus and commitment to quality service outcomes.
• Ability to apply legislation, policies and procedures fairly and consistently.
• Sound judgement and initiative with the ability to work independently.
• Willingness to rotate rosters, weekends, on‑call duties and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Patrol designated areas to monitor parking compliance.
• Provide accurate information and respond to parking enquiries.
• Educate the public on safe and lawful parking practices.
• Engage with customers in a professional, approachable manner.
• Work with Rangers and Compliance Officers to enforce regulations when required.
• Be flexible to cover on‑call, weekend and holiday shifts.
