Job summary

Australia Post in Launceston is seeking a Mail Sorting Officer based at the Launceston Parcel Centre. You will assist with preparation of mail, letters, parcels and Express Post items, and help load and unload mail from bags and containers.

This fixed-term, full-time role offers entry-level exposure to large-scale operations, with rotating afternoon and night shifts; you’ll work safely with pallets and hand tools while supporting a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role with opportunity to learn large-scale operations.
• Ability to lift up to 16 kg repeatedly as part of daily tasks.
• Rotating roster including afternoon and night shifts.
• Experience with pallet jacks or stackers is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing of letters, parcels and Express Post items.
• Sort mail and support loading/unloading from bags, trays and containers.
• work across processing equipment and systems to keep mail moving safely.
• participate in safety-focused team environment and use hand tools as needed.
