Job summary

Australia Post is seeking a Mail Sorting Officer to join a busy processing centre in Sydney. You’ll help prepare letters, parcels and Express Post items for delivery, sorting items and assisting with loading and unloading mail from bags, trays and containers.

You’ll operate modern processing equipment and pallet jacks, work with a team to keep mail moving safely and efficiently, and gain practical skills that open doors to future opportunities in processing, delivery and logistics.

Qualifications

• Detail-focused, reliable and able to handle mail and parcels up to 16kg.
• Flexible and willing to work extra hours when needed.
• Clear communication and proactive teamwork in busy environments.
• Experience with pallet jacks or stackers is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Based at a Mail & Parcel Processing Centre, support preparation of mail for the next day.
• Assist with processing letters, parcels and Express Post items and sorting mail.
• Help load and unload mail from bags, trays and containers.
• Work with processing equipment and load-shifting tools to keep mail moving safely.
