As a Mail Sorting Officer, you’ll be based at a Mail & Parcel Processing Centre, supporting the preparation of mail so it’s ready for delivery the next day. Your work includes assisting with the processing of letters, parcels and Express Post items, sorting mail that can’t be machine‑processed and helping load and unload mail from bags, trays and containers.
You’ll work across processing equipment and systems, using load‑shifting tools such as hand pallet devices and stackers in close collaboration with your team to keep mail moving safely and efficiently through the facility.
This is a strong entry‑level opportunity to learn how large‑scale operations work, build practical skills and contribute to a trusted service that communities rely on. With a focus on safety, teamwork and reliability, the experience gained in this role can open pathways to future opportunities across processing, delivery and logistics.
Note: Shifts in this position will be on a rotating roster predominantly between rosters of afternoon and night with the night shift starting the weeks work on a Sunday night.
This a manual processing, physical role and requires lifting up to a safe lifting range of 16kgs repeatedly.
