Aussie Painters Network is seeking Painting Apprentices to join member teams in the Sydney area, delivering hands-on experience alongside qualified painters. This is a chance to build a rewarding career in painting and decorating with mentoring and support throughout the apprenticeship.

You will gain practical skills, learn to prepare surfaces, read plans, and apply paints on residential and commercial projects. A pathway to a nationally recognised qualification is provided.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in undertaking a Painting Apprenticeship.
• White Card or ability to obtain one as soon as possible.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour.
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out measurements and basic calculations.
• Reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
• Erecting and maintaining trestle and plank systems.
• Handling painting and decorating materials.
• Using painting and decorating tools and equipment.
• Removing and replacing doors, windows, and components.
• Preparing surfaces for painting.
• Applying paint using brushes and rollers.
• Applying textured coating finishes by brush, roller, and spray.
