Job summary

Aussie Painters Network is seeking Painting Apprentices to join member teams across Queensland. You’ll work alongside qualified painters, gain hands-on experience, and receive mentoring and ongoing support while starting a rewarding career in the painting and decorating industry.

This paid apprenticeship offers on-the-job training, exposure to residential and commercial projects, and a nationally recognised qualification upon completion.

Qualifications

  • Genuine interest in undertaking a Painting Apprenticeship.
  • White Card or ability to obtain one.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour.
  • Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude, reliability and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow instructions and take direction.
  • Trustworthy and motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out measurements and basic calculations.
  • Reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
  • Erecting and maintaining trestle and plank systems.
  • Handling painting and decorating materials.
  • Using painting and decorating tools and equipment.
  • Removing and replacing doors, windows and components.
  • Preparing surfaces for painting.
  • Applying paint using brushes and rollers.
  • Applying textured coating finishes by brush, roller, and spray.

We are recruiting Painting Apprentices on behalf of our members to join their growing teams. Working alongside qualified and skilled painters, you will gain valuable hands‑on experience, mentoring, and ongoing support throughout your apprenticeship.
