Job summary

Indigo Shire Council invites applications for a hands-on Civil Construction professional based at the Yackandandah Depot. You will maintain roads, parks and public spaces, operating plant and heavy vehicles while developing practical construction and leadership skills.

The role requires a hands-on approach with a strong safety focus, ability to lead others, read construction plans, and work both independently and as part of a crew in a rural community setting.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Civil Construction (or higher) or substantial relevant industry experience.
• Experience reading construction plans and operating civil plant/heavy vehicles.
• Strong leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
• Safety-focused, adaptable and organized with licences including White Card, Traffic Control and First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of plant, equipment and heavy vehicles on roads, parks and public spaces.
• Lead a small crew when required and coordinate tasks.
• Contribute to maintenance and infrastructure projects across the municipality.
• Work outdoors in varied weather and terrain as part of the Operations Team.
