Job summary

Indigo Shire Council in Beechworth invites hands-on civil construction professionals to join our Operations Team. You will work outdoors, operate plant and heavy vehicles, and contribute to roads, parks and community spaces projects.

We value safety, teamwork and leadership, offering flexible work arrangements and opportunities for career development within a vibrant regional community. A White Card and relevant licences are required.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Civil Construction (or higher) or substantial relevant industry experience.
  • Experience reading construction plans and operating civil plant and heavy vehicles.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork with ability to coordinate a small crew.
  • Safety-focused, adaptable and organised with relevant licences including White Card, Traffic Control, First Aid.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a range of civil plant and heavy vehicles on road and infrastructure works.
  • Deliver road and infrastructure projects to a high standard.
  • Lead a small crew when required and coordinate tasks.
  • Maintain safety and compliance on worksites.

About You

You're a hands-on civil construction professional who enjoys working outdoors, operating plant and equipment, and contributing to projects that improve local communities. You're a reliable team player with a strong safety focus, the ability to lead others when required, and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a crew.

  • Certificate III in Civil Construction (or higher) and/or substantial relevant industry experience.
  • Experience reading construction plans, operating civil plant and heavy vehicles, and delivering road and infrastructure projects to a high standard.
  • Strong leadership, communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate and guide a small team when required.
  • Safety-focused, adaptable and organised, with relevant licences and tickets including a White Card, Traffic Control, First Aid, and machinery operating qualifications.
