Job summary

Maranoa Regional Council is seeking a hands-on parks and open spaces worker to maintain our town assets across Yuleba, Wallumbilla and Jackson. You will care for parks, gardens, streetscapes, cemeteries and other public spaces, keeping them safe and welcoming for residents and visitors.

Typical duties include mowing, weed control, irrigation, minor maintenance of play areas and facilities, and supporting water and cemetery operations where needed.

Maintain Council’s parks, gardens, open spaces, streetscapes, pathways, cemeteries and town entrances across Yuleba, Wallumbilla and Jackson.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake mowing, weed control, spraying, irrigation, landscaping, tree maintenance and litter control.
• Inspect and undertake minor maintenance of waste facilities, playgrounds, skate parks, showgrounds and other community assets.
• Assist with local water operations, including water meter reading and providing support to plumbing staff.
• Assist with cemetery operations, including burials, interment of ashes and installation of plaques.
