Job summary

Indigo Shire Council in North East Victoria is seeking a hands-on civil construction professional to join the Operations Team. You will maintain roads, parks and public spaces, operate plant and heavy vehicles, and help deliver infrastructure that the community uses every day.

You’ll lead a small crew when required, read construction plans, follow safety practices, and coordinate with colleagues to complete projects to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Experience reading construction plans.
• Experience operating civil plant and heavy vehicles.
• Strong leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
• Safety‑focused, adaptable and organised with relevant licences/tickets such as White Card, Traffic Control, First Aid.

About you

You're a hands‑on civil construction professional who enjoys working outdoors, operating plant and equipment, and contributing to projects that improve local communities. You're a reliable team player with a strong safety focus, the ability to lead others when required, and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a crew.

• Certificate III in Civil Construction (or higher) and/or substantial relevant industry experience.
• Experience reading construction plans, operating civil plant and heavy vehicles, and delivering road and infrastructure projects to a high standard.
• Strong leadership, communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate and guide a small team when required.
• Safety‑focused, adaptable and organised, with relevant licences and tickets including a White Card, Traffic Control, First Aid, and machinery operating qualifications.
