Job summary

Indigo Shire Council in Beechworth, VIC, is seeking a hands-on Civil Construction professional to join the Operations Team at the Yackandandah Depot. You will maintain roads, parks and public spaces, operating plant and heavy vehicles while developing practical construction and leadership skills.

You'll bring a Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent, experience reading plans, strong leadership and teamwork, and licences including White Card, Traffic Control and First Aid.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Civil Construction (or higher) or substantial industry experience.
• Experience reading construction plans, operating civil plant and heavy vehicles, and delivering road and infrastructure projects to a high standard.
• Strong leadership, communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate and guide a small team when required.
• Safety-focused, adaptable and organised, with relevant licences and tickets including a White Card, Traffic Control, First Aid, and machinery operating qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of plant, equipment and heavy vehicles.
• Work on real construction and maintenance projects that make a visible difference.
• Develop leadership skills by leading a small crew when required.
