Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education required or recognised equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework and regulatory standards.
  • Willingness to pursue Nominated Supervisor role under National Law.
  • Valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check required.
  • First aid (HLTAID004/012) and CPR (HLTAID001/009) certificates required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee OSHC service in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Provide pedagogical leadership and mentor educators.
  • Develop and update Quality Improvement Plan and Strategic Inclusion Plan.
  • Manage budget and resources; ensure safe, compliant operation.
  • Liaise with families, school advisory committees, and external agencies.
  • Support recruitment and rostering to maintain legal ratios.

Happy Haven OSHC is a South Australian-owned and operated company managing 40 OSHC services across the state. We are an Approved Provider with an expert team capable of running outstanding OSHC programs on school sites.

About the role:

In your role as the Service Co-Ordinators, you will oversee the OSHC service, ensuring high-quality care, engaging programs, and regulatory compliance. Your role includes providing pedagogical leadership, mentoring educators, fostering community relationships, and building trust with families. Your leadership and commitment to excellence will be key to the success of our OSHC service.

Duties include:
  • Work in ratio as the designated Responsible Person, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and the safety and well-being of all children
  • Oversee operational and administrative aspects
  • Ensure compliance with Education and Care regulations, Happy Haven OSHC policies, and legislative requirements
  • Maintain and exceed National Quality Standards
  • Provide leadership and drive improvement
  • Collaboratively develop and update the Quality Improvement Plan and Strategic Inclusion Plan
  • Develop and implement guidance support plans
  • Model and facilitate effective communication between staff
  • Induct new employees and maintain confidentiality and privacy standards
  • Manage budget and resources
  • Manage documentation, medication, and Risk Minimisation and Communication Plans for children with health needs
  • Develop and maintain service-specific risk assessments, supervision plans, and guidelines
  • Ensure accurate prescribed information is displayed
  • Liaise with school Advisory Committees and Governing Councils as appropriate, inclusive of school Principal, Business Manager and Contract Manager
  • Liaise with families and outside agencies and engage positively in the school community
  • Assist in the recruitment of staff in accordance with relevant regulations by way of collaborating with the head office teams
  • Have awareness of and accountability for service rosters to ensure legal ratios are maintained.
  • Provide a safe workplace that meets the standards of work, health and safety – both physical and psychosocial
Requirements:
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Previous experience in a managerial and leadership role is highly regarded
  • A can-do attitude and passion for child development
  • Sound understanding of the National Quality Framework
  • Possess or working towards a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or a degree in Early Childhood from a recognised University
  • Alternative qualification accepted for applicants recognised by ACECQA as Qualified in South Australia
  • Willingness to accept the role of Nominated Supervisor under the Education and Care Services National Law
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a valid Working with Children Check
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a valid National Police CheckHold or be willing to obtain Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN-EC) certificate
  • Hold or be willing to obtain National Child Safety Training certificate
  • First aid training (HLTAID004 or HLTAID012)
  • CPR training (HLTAID001 or HLTAID009)
