Job summary

Law Transport is seeking an experienced supervisor to take end-to-end control of rostered shifts across multiple depots in North Queensland. You will coach drivers, monitor progress, and resolve operational exceptions in a time- critical environment.

The role requires strong scheduling and NHVR/COR knowledge, with expected Saturday coverage. A transport/logistics qualification and relevant licenses are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising drivers in time‑critical operations.
• Strong knowledge of NHVR, fatigue and COR requirements.
• Formal transport/logistics supervision qualification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end control of rostered shift from 4:00am–1:00pm or 11:00am–8:00pm.
• Coach driver performance, monitor progress and resolve exceptions in real time.
• Ensure daily compliance with fatigue, mass, load restraint and NHVR/ COR standards.
• Be the hub between drivers, scheduling, fleet and customers and cover Saturday shifts as needed.
• Utilise scheduling, telematics and timesheet systems to drive efficiency.

Take real operational control. Lead a shift, not just cover one, with a growing North Queensland transport business investing in stronger systems for FY27.

About the Role

Own end-to-end control of your rostered shift (4:00am–1:00pm or 11:00am–8:00pm), with a structured two-hour handover

One of two Supervisors also covers rostered Saturday morning operations, shared based on business need

Convert the approved schedule into safe, compliant and commercially controlled job execution

Direct and coach driver performance, monitor job progress, and resolve operational exceptions as they happen

Own daily compliance — fatigue, mass, load restraint, pre-starts and NHVR/Chain of Responsibility

Be the key link between drivers, scheduling, fleet and customers

Substantial operational experience in transport, heavy haulage, road train, crane truck or logistics

Demonstrated experience supervising drivers and controlling multiple jobs in a time-critical environment

Strong scheduling and dispatch background, with solid NHVR compliance knowledge (fatigue, COR, WHS)

Clear, confident communicator — comfortable being the hub between drivers, customers and management

Available for the rostered shift, including shared rostered Saturday morning coverage

MC, CV, Doggers licence

White Card

Formal transport, logistics, heavy vehicle or supervisory qualification

Experience with scheduling, telematics/EWD and timesheet systems
