Job summary

Capricorn Bulk Haulage is seeking an experienced Transport Allocator / Operations Coordinator to join our team based in Mackay.

This hands on role coordinates day to day movement of our fleet, manages driver allocations and supports transport operations across Mackay and surrounding areas. You’ll work closely with drivers, customers and management to keep operations moving safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport allocation or similar road transport role.
• Good knowledge of heavy vehicle operations and legislation.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Current driver’s licence.

Capricorn Bulk Haulage is seeking an experienced Transport Allocator / Operations Coordinator to join our team based in Mackay.

This is a hands on operational role responsible for coordinating the day to day movement of our fleet, managing driver allocations and supporting our transport operations across Mackay and surrounding areas.

We’re looking for someone with solid road transport experience who can think on their feet, communicate well with drivers and customers, and keep operations moving safely and efficiently.

The Role

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating and allocating company trucks
• Monitoring transport movements and responding to operational changes
• Communicating with drivers, customers, sites and management
• Assisting with fatigue, mass and maintenance compliance requirements
• Maintaining accurate operational and compliance records
• Supporting safety and continuous improvement across operations
• Ensuring customer requirements and service expectations are met
• Troubleshooting delays, breakdowns and other operational issues
• Attending other CBH sites when required

You’ll need to be comfortable prioritising your workload, making operational decisions and solving problems as they occur.

What We’re Looking For

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience in transport allocation, operations or a similar road transport role
• Good knowledge of heavy vehicle operations and legislation
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• A practical approach to problem solving
• Computer and administrative skills
• A strong understanding of fatigue, mass and maintenance compliance
• A current driver’s licence

Highly regarded but not essential:

• HC / MC driver’s licence
• Front-end loader experience
• Experience within bulk haulage, mining or transport operations
• Mechanical minded
